I rearranged the last portion of my last name to create the number ten. After playing around with my first initial followed by my last name it started to look kind of like a house. I kept tweaking the letters until it looked like a house and then added the words "home builders" and a doorknob to represent the door which finalized the logo.
I love this! It looks like a legit logo I would see on a daily basis. It reminds me of home improvement. The only thing I might adjust is to take out the period after the F. It is already clear what the logo says to I feel that the period is just distracting. But overall great job! Very impressed.
I love that you played with the typeface and extended the letterforms. The blue stroke adds dimension to the picture (and eye candy because the color is so bright), and the placement of Home Builders is perfectly harmonious to the rest of the logo. The asymmetry of the piece works perfectly. Overall, this logo was designed very well and the format was well thought out.
